Fight for Your Own Wages

So I asked my American politics profressor, "When were unions the most powerful in terms of political influence?" He replied, "Late 60's, Early 70's."

I knew what the answer was going to be... pretty close anyways. I figured it was about when Jimmy (Sr) disappeared. In 1969, minimum wage was the highest in terms of todays dollars at about $8.63. Is that what WE did with our power? Yeah, mighty altruistic don't you think? I do.

I don't want to see that again. The AFL-CIO, God bless them, is getting ready to spend a large fortune this summer and fall. The public is kinda mad about their wages, healthcare costs, and such and feeling fairly populist. We ought to do REALLY well. But what should we do with it? I say leave the minimum wage alone. I say make it easier to organize. I say export our unions with our jobs at least. We are the INTERNATIONAL Brotherhood of Teamsters!

Leave the minimum wage alone. Raising it only discourages organizing.
